Republicans say ObamaCare’s impact on workplace injuries and deaths is “worse than you could ever imagine.”
Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee blasted ObamaCare for hurtling workers out of jobs, forcing some to work for pennies on the dollar and forcing others to work longer hours than they would have otherwise.
“The ObamaCare has caused a lot of people to work a lot longer hours for less money than they could have ever imagined,” said Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Texas, a member of the committee.
Rep. Mark Meadows, R.-N.C., said employers have been forced to hire people for the lowest possible pay and conditions and pay them less for longer.
Democrats countered that the law has saved millions of American workers by making it easier for them to access health care.
And Rep. Jim Jordan, D-Ohio, said he was encouraged by the fact that ObamaCare has given workers a chance to work during the shutdown.
He said the law is helping millions of Americans find work and that it is helping businesses.
