A crickets supply store in Sydney’s east is offering customers the opportunity to buy and sell the insects from its shelves.
The business, crickets store, has a shop in Fitzroy, near the airport, where customers can buy and receive a wide range of insects including cicadas, cockroaches, and hornets.
The store is set to open this week and customers will have the opportunity of buying and selling the insects at the counter.
“We are really excited to be able to open the store to our Sydney customers,” store manager Sarah D’Ath said.
“There’s a wide variety of crickets out there and we are really happy to have a store like this available to our customers to help them to make the most of their purchase.”
The store also has a dedicated crickets section with a full selection of insects for sale, including cICadas, hornets, and crickets.
“I think it’s great that we are opening our store up to the community to help people get their hands on these insects,” Ms D’Ah said.
Crickets store will open this Thursday, March 2.
Ms D”Ah said she was happy to see crickets becoming a staple in Australian homes.
“Crickets have a wonderful smell and a delicious taste,” she said.
“When we are on the move we are looking for insects to make our homes more comfortable.”
She said she hoped the store would help customers enjoy the bugs more.
“As we travel around Australia we see a lot of different types of bugs on the street, but I think a good quality cricket is very important,” she.
The crickets shop is set for a full launch in the coming weeks.
“When it opens, we hope to have the store full and ready to cater for all of our customers,” Ms Pears said.
