Medical supplies, stables office and pharmacy supplies are all on the rise.
The Times Of India reports that over 80 per cent of India’s medical supplies are being imported.
The report also notes that over one million medical supplies have been delivered by Indian doctors to overseas patients, and more than 80 per for every 100,000 people.
India’s healthcare sector is one of the largest in the world, with some 8.3 million people enrolled in medical services.
The country has also been ranked as the most expensive to operate in Asia and as the world’s second most expensive place to live in.
The most recent figures published by the International Monetary Fund indicate that India spends nearly $3,000 per person per year, which is roughly $6,500 per person in the US.
